  • Hands-on, creative experiences with cutting-edge technologies

  • Includes all aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM)

Course 1: Robotic Inventions and Cyber Security with Sphero

Robotic Inventions Explore creativity with LEGO’s SPIKE PRIME, fostering skills in engineering, teamwork, computational thinking, and programming. Each day students will participate in a new robotic challenge and use drag-and-drop coding language based on Scratch.

Cyber Security with SPHERO As our lives become more interconnected digitally, safeguarding our devices is crucial. In this engaging class, students will delve into the fundamentals of cyber security using SPHERO Bolts. Through interactive games and activities, participants will develop critical thinking skills to protect their electronic devices and understand the importance of secure online behavior.

Course 3: Magical Maps with GIS and Arduino Turns it ON!

Magical Maps with GIS Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is like a magical map that helps us learn more about our world by showing where things are, how they're connected, and even how they change over time. We will explore and analyze data about our environment, helping us see patterns, make decisions, and solve problems in our communities. Students will use the design thinking process to engage in a personal passion project, creating storymaps and designing an innovative solution for the future.

Arduino Turns it ON! An Arduino is a tiny computer that you can program to do all kinds of cool stuff and bring your ideas to life. It's like a magical brain that you can connect to different parts, like sensors, lights, or motors, to make them do what you want. Create your own gadgets, toys, or even robots!

TEEN TECH introduces participants to exciting field trips, including dorm tours to provide a glimpse into future college living, visits to the state-of-the-art medical Simulation Lab for a hands-on experience, exploration of the eSports Arena for a taste of digital competition, and a trip to Starbucks and the library. This multifaceted approach not only equips teenagers with valuable technical skills but also nurtures their personal and social development in a fun and dynamic setting.

Wait List

If a desired course is full, you can choose to be added to a wait list. If a space becomes available all participants on the waitlist will be notified via email. Sign ups are first come first serve. However, please keep in mind that seats rarely open up and it is generally better to sign up for another one of our engaging courses in that time slot to ensure placement within the program.

Refund Policy

If the program is canceled due to university decision all participants will receive a full refund.

For those who register between registration opening through April 30th:

As families often need to make decisions about summer programs very early in the year to schedule the busy summer months and to ensure placement in our fastest selling courses, we understand that sometimes plans change. So that you feel confident paying tuition in the winter and spring for a July program, the Maryville TEEN TECH Program offers a 100% refund policy for courses until April 30th.

However, in order to maintain small class sizes, we offer limited placements in each class and most of our classes sell out by spring. When you pay tuition for a class in our program, you reserve a placement for your child that no one else can purchase. By May, many families have made summer plans and we are often unable to resell placements. Therefore, unless we have a child on the course waiting list that takes your child’s place, we can only offer a 50% refund from May 1 through June 15 and are unable to offer refunds June 16 and afterward except in extreme cases such as a death in the family or medical emergency.

Late registrant policy:

For those who register on May 1 or after, we offer a 100% refund through June 15 and a 50% refund through the onset of the program. For those who register after June 15, we offer a 100% refund through the onset of the program.
