Future STL

Science and Technology Leaders serves 6 North St. Louis County school districts by 1) providing summer programs for elementary (STEM Explorations) and secondary students (Coding Camp); and 2) training teachers through our STEM Education Certificate Program who then become their schools’ “STEM Champions” and lead afterschool STEM Clubs for students at their schools.

Program Description: The grant project Future STEM Leaders trains and nurtures teachers to become STEM Champions. STEM Champions exhibit the qualities of: commitment to high risk children, focus on STEM classroom experiences, ability to implement an extracurricular STEM program meeting a minimum of 20 contact hours with students, and involvement in one of Maryville's Center for Access and Achievement programs. STEM Champions often participation in Maryville's STEM Certificate Program with a scholarship.
